  • defrex.com vs. Xanga; can't we all just get along?

Believe it or not, I've found a way to continue using xanga, while not actualy using xanga. I know that sounds crazy. I'm currently typing this entry at defrex.com, and if all goes according to plan (and I think it will) this post will show up in both blogs.

The wonders of modern technology, eh?

Anyway, I've disabled comments for these non-xanga posts. If you want to comment, please click the link at the bottom of each post, which will take you to the comment page at my website. It's just easier for me not to have to track two separate comment threads for each post. I'm also not sure how things like YouTube will work out, but if they don't show, just click the link and  you can see them on my real site.

I'm probably going to be adding things to this site at random intervals (probably short ones), so check back to see. Also, if you have an idea, don't hesitate to let me know.

  • defrex.com

In light of Sarah recognizing the extremity of my geekdom, I've decided to tell you all about the website I've been working on. You can take a look here.

It's extremely 'beta' right now. Don't let the lack of style fool you though, it's still a work of art. I decided the code the whole thing myself rather then use a premade script. I think you would all be amazed at how much fun I get out of programming.

Anyway, the reason I'm showing you all my new website before it's finished, is because I'd like people to test it. In theory, it should all work without flaw, but reality of often less idea.

I've created an account that can post. It called: "Guest Poster" the password is "password". Both of those are case sensitive. Anyway, create new accounts, post, comment. I implore you, please play around with it.

If you go back periodically, you'll probably start to see changes, as I'd like to have everything ready for real use in a week or so. Thanks for the help.

  • Google Toolbar

Okay, so I've used Google Toolbar in the past, and found it to be a good tool. I'm generally against clogging up browsers with unneeded UI, but it's my opinion that this one offers enough to make it worth while. Such as a built in spell-checker, Gmail support, and PageRank.

Well, version 2.0 just came out of beta, and I read that you can add custom buttons to it. So out of curiosity, I mosied over to the API page. After becoming interested I actually made a button for it. It will allow you to search any website you happen to be visiting at the time. You can get it here.

However, programming done, and ready to invite more Google into my life, I discovered that the new 2.0 version was not available for Firefox. Alas, naught can be done but wait. They'll probably have a Firefox version soon, because all of their other products support Firefox (often more then IE). Anyway, I thought I would share my disappointment with you all.

  • Welcome to the Blogosphere!

I heard about a good idea today. Search for first posts (made recently) and leave comments welcoming these new people to the Blogosphere. I think you should all try it.

  • Spiderman 3 at Comic-Con

The shitty bootleg below is from Comic-Con San Diego 2006. It's almost painful to watch, but pay close attention to the very end.

Yes sir, Venom is confirmed as the main villain in Spiderman 3. Apparently this is strait from the mouth of Sam Raimi (the Director).

  • WiFi in TO

    From 680 News,

Toronto Hydro Telecom now says its hi-speed
internet access will be ready to go September 7th.  The utility
provider claims that the connection and speed will rival anything on
the market right now and that the first six months will be free.

The wireless system will initially work in the financial district and hopes to expand north to College Street by October.

By 2007, the wireless internet coverage is expected to expand to cover the area of Front to Bloor and Parliament to Bathurst.

  • "Matrix Mouse"

Two video's in a row may be a bit much, but their not that long.

  • Giant Little Girl

This video creeps me out a little, for some reason.

In case you thought otherwise, Google is fuckin l33t.

  • Really Cheap iPods

I realize that posting deal for some product in my blog is a little lame, but I couldn't resist. These are really good prices. Apple is selling off refurbished iPods (and throwing in accessories for free). Chech it out.
