  • I went to a waterfront festival thing today. Took this picture.

  • Today's picture I can only account to getting up at 7:15 this morning. I spliced a bunch of pictures... and now I have my childhood teady-friend Bow riding a Chocobo with my sword on his back... I'm not even sure how this happened.

  • Free Money! Today I got payed 40$ for getting sent home. They even payed for my cab.

  • Today has been good for my bank account. A friend of my father is friends with someone who works a job agency. So I went to see that person today, and it sounds really good. I have work for tomorow and friday, and she is planning on giving me something more permanent when I'm done that.

After that I went home, and it seems I had recieved an e-mail from OSAP. So, I go to the website, to check on the status of the account. Well, OSAP is going to give me 5250, a nice enough sum, but thats nto all. Somehow I'm getting a Canadian Millennium Bursary. That's another 3000! So, 8250 dollors. Nice, really nice.

  • I haven’t had a ton of exposure to the different candidates apart from television ads, which I oft ignore. So this debate was really my full impression. Here is what I think.

    The Conservative Party
Ok, I am a firm believer in the traditional definition of marriage as something biblical, but honestly that’s where my agreement with this party ends, and let me assure you, it’s not the issue that makes and breaks everything. The other day my mother called the conservatives “The Christian Party” honestly, I think “The American Party” would be more apt. They want to agree with Bush unconditionally, as well as put money into our own military so that we can help him that much more. They also strike me as extremely capitalist. From health care to government funded anything, Harper wants to cut taxes, and give less. And as much as I’m sure everyone loves less taxes, I’d much rather see more tax, more free government services. For example, child care. He wants to lower taxes to people with children, as opposed to letting the taxes be, and providing an actual day care system, or at least funding to lower the prices of the existing ones.

    The Liberals
I’m not really sure what they believe on anything. Martin would never really say anything other then “Trust me, they don’t know what their talking about, I’m good, really, I am.“ Martin’s opinion is only ever made clear by what everyone else says. And even those things I don’t really like. I’m not a fan of private health care (I guess I’m a commy at heart), and… I don’t know what else he stands for… um… what was I watching for 2 hours?

    Bloc Quebecois
I like what he has to say. He seems to have a good grasp of things. The biggest problem: He’s just to damn French! Haha, ok, I don’t mean it like that. Duceppe seems to be concerned with only Quebec, and the separation there of. Well, I think separation is a bad idea, but I see where the guy is coming from. He’s only really looking for the French vote. Still though, several times I liked him the best. Haha, he’s even the most articulate, next to Harper, and English is his second language.

    The New Democratic Party
He’s not perfect. Somehow I always feel like the guy is saying whatever would sound nice. But he’s not as bad as the liberals, at least he takes a stand on things. I think he’s got my vote.

Oh, and if someone wants to convince me the discluded green party is best, I’m all ears (or eyes, as the case may be).

  • Ok, well, Picure of the Day, is not exactly that. But, I have another picture. Haha, we found a gnome!

  • Well, heeding the advice of Missina, I've decided to start some sort of Pic-of-the-Day thing. I suppose I cannot guarantee a new pic every day, but I will try. Today I went down town and saw Saved with Jamie. It took a bunch of pictures. It was between this one, and a picture of the most ghetto-cool keyboard ever (I would have bought it for 1.50 is I though I could get it to work). This one was a little more aesthetically pleasing, so I went for it.

  • Ok, sword pictures:

  • So, today I asked my mother to take me to Cash Converters (a used good store). You see, I have been looking around trying to find Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 for a while, and I though they might have them. So, I walk in, and look around for the video games. I find, with a certain amount of satisfaction, that they have FF7. I notice the PS2 games there too, and figure I'll check out what they have, just in case. A copy of .Hack\infection catches my eye. I heard good things about it, and it's only 20 bucks. So, as I'm going to the counter, I notice a pair of katanas sitting on a stand behind the desk. I can't help but ask: "How much are those?"

"Oh, we sold those for 100 dollars."

"Oh, their sold, all write. That's a fairly good deal though, for both."

"Hey wait, I think we have one more," he says, as a rather long medieval looking sword appears from under the counter, "I think it's supposed to be Excalibur."

I excitedly reply, "How much is it?"

"Uhh, I think it's only 29," he hands it to me.

I take it. It's heavy. I putt the blade away from the sheath just an inch, and the sound along entices me to get it. "Excellent, I'll take it!"

So, after having my card rejected for some unfathomable reason, and having to borrow money from my mother, I'm the proud owner of a new sword. Ok, the balance is off, there is a small broken part on the sheath, and it's no where close to being ornate enough for Excalibur (in fact, it's sort of gaudy), but it's still cool.

  • Brown water drips from my hands as I grimace from the stinging of my missing skin. It's hard to see the burn on my arm because it's nearly all brown from dirt and sap. The water definately feels nice though. Ahh well, another hundred for the pile I supose.
