  • I’m going for an interview to work Tyndale Security today. Hopefully I
get the job. I think my idea’s about IT sort of fizzled into nothing,
but c’est la vie, I suppose.

Anyway, the purpose of my post is: I’m looking for music. Specifically,
stuff like Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. Mellow, with relatively nice
lyrics. I know there is plenty out there.

Also, feel free to recommend to me anything you like. I’m on a big
music consumption kick right now because I want more variety on my ipod.

    Have a nice day.

You can’t scare me, I’m stickin’ with the union.

  • Weird, I actually can't think of anything to recommend to you. All my mellow stuff is female fronted. Is that okay? Cuz I can give you mellow females.

  • cuff the duke, they're kinda folkish, but different.

and of course, the false heroics. you can find their old stuff which theyre not proud of on http://www.thefalseheroics.com.... they're in the process of making a new cd though.

  • well, seeing as how matthew called all my music "burn out" music... i might be able to recomend a couple...

    nada surf
    the album leaf
    super furry animals ("hello sunshine")
    stabilo
    remy zero
    joseph arthur ("in the sun")
iron and wine (but i think you listen to them already)
    death cab for cutie

they might not be exactly like jack johnson, but they're all pretty indie. i think jamie is planning a trip out here over christmas break, and matthew wants you to come too. :)

  • A female front is fine, as long as thier not to miltantly feminist. I sympathise with the cause, but frankly, a lot of that shit just comes across as self-pitty.

  • No no.. that isn't what I had in mind here.

I don't know if any of this is what you're looking for. It isn't at all like Jack or Ben. But it's mellow and has wonderful lyrics.

  • why don´t you back to the oldies, like Simon and garfunkle. or i´m sure you havn´t exhasted Belle and sabastain yet ... *sigh* actually i heard a really awesome band when i was in amsterdam then it was on like ´the german equivallent to CSI´  but i can´t for the life of me remember the  name. It was like Jonny cash, hits jack johnson, with a little hint of n k r buckle ( i don´t really know how to spell that). really i think it´s jeff parker music, but he never asked me to recomend anything. I´ll give it somemore thought. You knwo the postal service no? ... *sigh* I feel like i´m failing you aron jones, i can usually feed you some quality stuff (mainly from my brother) but not this time. soory.
